US, Russia agree to exchange info on Russia-Ukraine border

(VOVworld) - US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Saturday that the United States and Russia had agreed to exchange information about the situation on the Russia-Ukraine border. Kerry was speaking to reporters in Beijing after meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the APEC Summit scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. Kerry said both sides do have some disagreements with respect to Ukraine but they agreed to exchange info on Russia-Ukraine border and that this is a dialogue between them that would continue. Kerry also expressed his hope that concerned parties will continue to respect a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine.

Russia's foreign minister Sergey Lavrov has welcomed US involvement in resolving the Ukraine crisis, saying it would be a "step in the right direction”.
