US Secretary of Defense makes fourth visit to Ukraine

(VOVWORLD) - US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin arrived in Kyiv on Monday, two weeks before the US Presidential election on November 5.

Austin's trip, his fourth and likely final visit as President Biden's Pentagon chief, will focus on US efforts to shore up Ukraine’s defenses as Russian forces gain ground in eastern Ukraine.
Austin announced 400 million USD in new arms for Ukraine, including armored vehicles and anti-tank weapons, and said he hopes to see continued bipartisan support for Ukraine from the US Congress.
