U.S Senate fails to override Obama's Keystone XL veto

(VOVworld)- Republicans have failed to muster enough votes to overrule U.S President Barack Obama's recent veto of a bill that would have approved the Keystone XL pipeline.
The bill did not receive the two thirds vote needed to override the veto. However, Republicans said they will not give up and will find another bill to attach this pipeline approval to.
The 1,800-kilometer pipeline would bring 800,000 barrels of Canadian oil to refineries on the U.S. Gulf Coast every day. Construction of the pipeline, initiated 6 years ago, will cost 8 billion USD.
