The United States on Sunday sent F-22 stealth fighter jets to South Korea to join Seoul’s armed forces in military drills as tensions on the Korean peninsula escalate. The US said its F-22 stealth jets would join the “Foal Eagle” field training exercise between US and South Korea to defend Seoul against any attack by North Korea. The Pentagon did not indicate how many F-22 jets were sent from Japan to South Korea but described this as part of the periodic rotation of air units in the Western Pacific theater of operations.
