US, South Korea, Japan concerned over North Korea's missile launch

(VOVWORLD) - Senior officials of South Korea, the United States, and Japan expressed concern over North Korea's missile launch on Thursday, which South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) identified as a short-range ballistic missile. The three countries agreed to respond firmly through close trilateral cooperation.

During a trilateral phone call the same day, officials of the three countries in charge of North Korean nuclear issues said North Korea’s actions violated the United Nations Security Council resolutions and could affect peace and security on the Korean Peninsula.
The three countries will closely follow North Korea’s possible missile launches and maintain close coordination to respond firmly to any provocation.
