US targets Russian, Chinese firms for breaching North Korea sanctions breaches
(VOVWORLD) - On Wednesday the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on Russian and Chinese companies for breaching North Korea sanctions.
It accused the Dalian Sun Moon Star International Logistics Trading Co. and SINSMS Pte. Ltd of helping North Korea import alcohol and tobacco products by using falsified shipping documents, and sanctioned Profinet Pte Ltd for providing port services to North Korean-flagged ships.
Last week the US imposed sanctions on Russia’s Commercial Bank Agrosoyuz, North Korean banker Ri Jong Won, China’s Dandong Zhongsheng Industry & Trade Company, and the Korea Ungum Corporation for helping North Korea evade restrictions on financial transactions.
