(VOVworld) - The US Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has officially okayed the import of fresh star apple fruit from Vietnam into the US.

The APHIS made this decision after completing a pest risk analysis. The star apple is the fifth Vietnamese fruit to be exported to the US, following dragon fruit, rambutan, litchi, and longan. The US is now considering importing fresh mango from Vietnam.
Right now is the star apple harvest season. Vietnamese businesses should prepare to meet all necessary quarantine and packing requirements before exporting the fruit to the US market.
