Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade appreciates the decision and affirmed that the US Department of Agriculture's catfish inspection program does not benefit American consumers. It has negatively impacted Vietnam-US fine trade relations and may not match the US’ commitments to the WTO.
Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade hopes the US Senate’s resolution to end the catfish inspection program will receive the House of Representatives' approval and President Barack Obama's signature to take effect. If it is a approved, it will be a right decision to make the world community believe in the US’ commitments to the WTO and enhance Vietnam-US economic and trade relations.
