Various activities mark third Vietnam-China Youth Festival

(VOVworld) – 400 outstanding Vietnamese and Chinese youths discussed and proposed initiatives concerning environmental protection and sustainable development at a forum in Lang Son city on Tuesday, as part of the ongoing third Vietnam-China Youth Festival.

Nong Ngoc Hoi from Lang Son said: "To protect the environment effectively, we will increase communications to raise understanding of staff, youth members, and young people about environment protection and climate change. We’ll continue taking actions against climate change and mitigate the impacts of natural disasters."

Luu Chieu, a Chinese youth, said: "Vietnam and China share a river, a favorable condition for youths of the two countries to carry out joint environmental activities."

Within the framework of the festival, Vietnamese and Chinese youngsters engaged in a forum on cultural preservation and tourism development in Bac Ninh and Ninh Binh province. In Phu Tho province, a delegation of Chinese youths planted trees at Hung Vuong University, visited the Hung Kings Temple historical relic site, and enjoyed Xoan singing performances.
