(VOV) - The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) hosted a meeting on Friday in Hanoi to review last year’s performance and map out tasks for this year. Reports said that in 2011, VCCI carried out effective activities to help improve the business climate and reform administrative procedures. The Chamber also accelerated trade promotion campaigns by organizing 400 visits to Vietnam for some 18,000 foreign enterprises, an increase of 20% against 2010. Business forums and commissions between Vietnam and other countries were maintained. VCCI also contributed to building laws on labor and establishing business associations in industrial zones, helping build harmonized and progressive relations between employers and employees. Hoang Van Dung, VCCI Vice President, said in 2012, the Chamber will focus on enhancing the capacity of business associations, supporting enterprise restructure, and boosting export: “VCCI will continue to work on improving the business environment, particularly in localities through policy consultancy. We will also enhance and standardize surveys of business sentiment, which will serve as references for the government and the business community”.
