Delegates agreed that state management over religions in 2015 was in line with the law, increasing religious dignitaries and followers’ trust in party and state policies to ensure freedom of religion and belief. Relations between local administration and congregations were consolidated and religious followers contributed significantly to patriotic emulation movements. Bui Thanh Ha, Deputy head of the government committee for religious affairs, said: “We are finalizing the draft law on religion and belief to submit to the National Assembly for approval in 2016. We are working on projects to enhance the role of religious organizations in national construction and defense. These projects will give international friends insights into religious freedom, democracy, and human rights in Vietnam.”
