Vietnam aims to win U23 Southeast Asia Championship 2022

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam will do their best to aim for the highest possible position in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U23 Championship 2022 in Cambodia, said head coach Dinh The Nam of the U23 team Vietnam.

Nam told an online press conference before the tournament on Sunday that U23 Vietnam, as well as other participating teams have had their best preparation for the tournament with high goals. Vietnam's squad consists mostly of U21 players and this tournament is an opportunity for the players to compete and accumulate experience for the future.

U23 team Vietnam  is in Group C with Singapore and Thailand. They will play their first match against Singapore U23 on Saturday.

The tournament sees the participation of 10 teams and will be held from February 14 to 26, 2022. Hosts Cambodia have been placed in Group A along with Timor-Leste, the Philippines, and Brunei, while Group B includes Malaysia, Myanmar, and Laos, and Group C comprises Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore.
