Vietnam, Algeria strengthen bilateral relations

At a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh in Hanoi on Friday, Mr. Messahel proposed the enhancement of cooperation amongst localities, organization of trade exchanges and fairs, and the provision of scholarships for their students to study in the other country .

Mr. Minh asked ministries and sectors of both countries to implement agreed outcomes of the Inter-Governmental Committee’s 11th meeting in November 2017. Vietnam and Algeria will prepare for the Algerian Prime Minister’s visit to Vietnam in 2019 and legal framework to facilitate bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

He asked Algeria to back the Vietnam National Petroleum Group to expand its operation, explore potential oil fields, and provide petroleum technical services in Algeria.
