Vietnam and Japan hold 6th Strategic Partnership Dialogue

(VOVworld) - The sixth Vietnam-Japan Strategic Partnership Dialogue took place in Tokyo on Friday, under the chair of Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Ho Xuan Son and his Japanese counterpart Shinsuke Sugiyama.

The two sides exchanged views on their respective countries’ foreign policies and security and defense, as well as on regional and international issues of mutual concern. They stressed the importance of assuring peace as well as maritime and aviation security and freedom in line with international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. They also agreed to boost cooperation at regional and international forums.

Also during dialogue, Mr. Ho Xuan Son met with Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Masakazu Hamachi. The two sides agreed to foster Vietnam-Japan Strategic Partnership and implement agreements reached by leaders of the two countries in politics, economics, trade, and exchange.
