Attending an online 11th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Social Welfare and Development with the theme "Accelerating the Implementation of ASEAN Commitments to Gender Equality through Gender Mainstreaming and Social Inclusion", Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Le Tan Dung said that ensuring social security is part of Vietnam’s development strategy. Vietnam has step by step fine-tuned the legal framework to ensure the rights and interests of target groups such as the elderly, people with disabilities, and children.
Mr. Dung said: “Vietnam wants to work with ASEAN to promote and complete the legal framework to ensure the rights, interests, and accessibility of the elderly and children to basic social services. Vietnam commits to working with ASEAN countries to raise awareness and enhance cooperation to ensure the welfare and happiness of all ASEAN citizens to leave no one behind.”
