The statement was made at Monday's meeting between Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh and Ms. Nikishina Veronika Olegovna, Minister for Trade of the Asia-Europe Economic Commission (EEC). The two ministers agreed to redouble their efforts to effectively implement the Vietnam-EU FTA and to create optimal conditions for bilateral trade in agri-silvicultural and aquatic products. They reached consensus on speeding up negotiations to build an electronic system of origin assessment and certification following the roadmap of Vietnam and the Asia-Europe Economic Union.
Mr. Tuan Anh requested the EEC to dismiss its trigger mechanism on Vietnam’s textile products, including underclothes and children’s clothes.
