(VOVworld) – Vietnam attaches great importance to developing ties with Denmark, said Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh at his reception for the new Danish Ambassador to Viet Nam, Charlotte Laursen, in Hanoi on Thursday. He lauded the recently-inked Joint Action Plan 2016 between Vietnam and Denmark with crucial and realistic activities in politics, economics, environment, education-training, and culture. Deputy PM Minh thanked Denmark for its Official Development Assistance to Viet Nam, proposing the Ambassador closely cooperate with Vietnamese ministries, agencies and localities to deepen bilateral relations in all fields, especially in the context of the two sides celebrating the 45
th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.

Ambassador Charlotte Laursen said that the Danish government hopes to strengthen cooperation with Viet Nam, one of the 10 prioritized partners in Denmark’s Growth Strategy. She pledged to coordinate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and functional agencies to boost effective cooperation in adaption to climate change, environment, energy, education and green growth. Denmark will accelerate links between the two sides’ businesses to take full advantage of the Viet Nam-EU Free Trade Agreement.
