Vietnam attends 216th session of UNESCO Executive Board

Addressing the 216th meeting of UNESCO Executive Board on Monday and Tuesday in Paris, Deputy Foreign Minister Ngoc highly appreciated efforts by the UNESCO Secretary-General and Director-General in mobilizing resources, promoting multi-dimensional approaches, effectively implementing activities, and providing timely support for member countries in crisis after the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Deputy Minister affirmed Vietnam's commitment to promoting multilateral cooperation and cohesion with UNESCO's fields of professional cooperation.

Vietnam has celebrated the 50th anniversary of the World Heritage Convention and the 20th anniversary of the Convention for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage. 

It will host an international conference on promoting the role of the UNESCO title for sustainable development in Vietnam scheduled for July 2023, with the goal of turning UNESCO title into a support for sustainable development and inspiration for the future.
