(VOVworld) - Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son will deliver a speech entitled “Climate Change - the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development” at the 12th ASEM Foreign Ministers Meeting (AFMM 12) slated for Thursday and Friday in Luxembourg. On the sidelines of the event, he is scheduled attend bilateral meetings with delegation heads from Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Luxembourg, India, Sweden, and Finland. An agreement on visa exemptions for citizens of Vietnam and Malta is expected to be signed during a meeting between Deputy Minister Son the Maltese Foreign Minister. The biennial AFMM, which alternates between Asia and Europe, promotes dialogues on issues that affect both regions. This year’s event will focus on climate change, which presents huge challenges to the UN’s 2030 Agenda for sustainable development. Participants will also discuss connectivity, the future of ASEM, and disputes in the East Sea.
