Vietnam attends FMM14 in Madrid

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh led a delegation to attend the 14th Asia-Europe Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (FMM14), which opened on Monday in Madrid.

Deputy PM Minh said multilateral cooperation plays an important role in Vietnam’s foreign policy. He added that Vietnam will work with ASEM members to boost cooperation in resolving global issues for the sake of peace and sustainable development in the region and the world.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Mr. Minh met with foreign ministers of Romania, Kazakhstan, Spain, Ireland, Bulgaria, Japan, Poland, Slovenia, and representatives of Switzerland and Denmark to discuss ways to boost bilateral ties between Vietnam and those countries.  

The event is attended by 53 members of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), including 21 Asian countries, 30 European countries, the EU, and the ASEAN Secretariat.
