Vietnam attends international anti-corruption conference in Malaysia

(VNA/VOVworld) – The UN Convention on Anti-Corruption Chapter VI : Technical Assistance and Information Exchange is the main theme of the ongoing 6th International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA)Annual Conference and General Meeting in Kula Lumpur.

A Vietnamese delegation led by Vice Director Nguyen Hai Phong of the Supreme People’s Procuracy of Vietnam, along with 1000 anti-corruption officials from 100 countries around the globe, are attending the event. In his opening speech yesterday, Malaysia’s Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak said corruption is such a big threat that all countries have to exert long-term efforts to combat it. The Malaysian government considers anti-corruption efforts a priority in its Government Transformation and Economic Transformation programs. During the 4-day meeting, participants will focus on law enforcement, anti-corruption, asset recovery, and international cooperation. Their discussion will also include human resource training; technical assistance; information collection, exchange, and processing; experience sharing; and the implementation of the convention of combating corruption through economic development.
