At the opening ceremony on Monday, head of the Australian TPP negotiation delegation Justin Brown expressed his hope that all 11 nations will reach a final agreement so that the trade deal spanning the Pacific can take effect after the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting scheduled for November in Danang, Vietnam. During the three-day meeting, the negotiators will discuss amendments to the original TPP agreement given the new context. At an earlier meeting in Tokyo, TPP negotiators agreed to put the agreement into force under a new framework.
