Vietnam attends the 8th AtomExpo International Forum 2016 in Russia
(VOVworld) – The 8th AtomExpo International Forum 2016, which took place in Moscow from May 30 to June 1, drew 508 delegates from 55 countries and reporters from 450 press agencies. Vietnamese officials from the Department of Atomic Energy of the Ministry of Science and technology attended the event.
The forum organized by the state corporation Rosatom consisted of seminars and exhibitions of advanced atomic equipment. Rosatom General Director Sergey Kiriyenko said the development of nuclear energy will ensure energy supply for consumers at a stable price and contribute to reducing CO2 emission.
The International Atomic Energy Agency reports that the use of nuclear energy has avoided the release of 56 billion tons of CO2 since 1971 and Russian nuclear reactors will help reduce 711 million tons of CO2 from now until 2030.
