(VOVworld) – The Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Nguyen Lam, on Tuesday visited Most Venerable Thich Pho Tue, Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Patronage Council in Phu Xuyen, Hanoi, on the 2557th Birthday of Lord Buddha. Lam extended a congratulatory message to the Patriarch, dignitaries, Buddhist monks, nuns and followers, wishing them a happy and moral celebration within the realm of national unity. The Vice President of the Fatherland Front expressed his belief that the Vietnam Buddhist Shangha would continue to uphold its role as a member of the Front, contributing national patriotic emulation movements and promoting national unity.

For his part, Most Venerable Thich Pho Tue said that Buddhist monks, nuns and followers and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha sincerely carry out their  religious work, striving for a better life. The Shangha will continue to encourage followers to fulfill citizens’ obligations and abide by Party guidelines and State policies.
