Vietnam-Burundi friendly, cooperative relations strengthened

(VOVWORLD) - President Luong Cuong and his spouse on Friday hosted the official welcome ceremony for President of the Republic of Burundi Évariste Ndayishimiye and his spouse, who are on an official visit to Vietnam until Sunday.

During their talks after the welcome ceremony, the two Presidents acknowledged that Vietnam and Burundi have significant potential to further enhance bilateral trade.
They agreed to promote information exchange on market demands and investment opportunities, and facilitate partnerships between businesses from both countries.
They emphasized the need to diversify trade items, ease market access for each country's export staples, and advance cooperation in areas of mutual interest and advantage, particularly in agriculture.
President Luong Cuong expressed his hope that President Ndayishimiye would continue to support Viettel Group’s telecommunications joint venture in Burundi and Vietnamese enterprises to conduct stable and long-term business in the country.
The two leaders agreed to strengthen coordination and mutual support at international organizations and multilateral forums.
President Ndayishimiye expressed his willingness to help Vietnam enhance cooperation with the African Union and establish relations with the East African Community.
