Vietnam – Cambodia friendship meeting


(VOVworld) The Vietnam Union of Friendship Associations and the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association has held their third meeting to celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties and Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Year 2012.

Speaking at the event in the central city of Da Nang yesterday/ Wednesday, the Association’s leaders praised the fruitful cooperative results gained by both countries over the last 45 years. The two neighbors have developed traditional ties and mutual support in the cause of national liberation, freedom, and construction. Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam Om shares her views: “I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Vietnamese volunteers who stood side by side with the Cambodian United Front for National Salvation, to fight the genocidal Khmer Rouge regime. I sincerely thank the Vietnamese government and people for your cooperation and support for Cambodia’s socio-economic development. The 45th anniversary of Vietnam – Cambodia diplomatic ties and the 2012 Friendship Year will enhance our mutual cooperation, in the interests of both nations and contribute to peace, stability and prosperity in ASEAN.”
