(VOVworld) – Vietnam and Cambodia have agreed to boost cooperation in education, economics, trade, and investment with the aim of raising two-way trade turnover to 5 billion US dollars by 2015.

At the 13th session of the Vietnam-Cambodia Joint Committee for economic, cultural, scientific and technological cooperation in Phnom Penh on Tuesday, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh and his Cambodian counterpart Hor Nam Hong reiterated their determination to quickly complete land border planting and demarcation to build a border line of peace, and stability, for their mutual development.

The leaders also agreed on further cooperation in the searching for and repatriation of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who had sacrificed their lives in Cambodia. Vietnam and Cambodia reached agreement on not letting any hostile forces to use their territories to conduct activities against the other country’s security, and ensuring the legitimate rights of immigrants from both nations in the host country.

The two Deputy Prime Ministers signed the meeting’s memorandum of understanding under which the next session will take place in Vietnam next year.

On Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh paid a courtesy visit to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, who said he will ask Cambodian agencies and provinces to work together with Vietnamese partners to implement signed articles to further future bilateral comprehensive cooperation for the benefit of both peoples, for regional and global peace, stability, and cooperation.
