Vietnam, Cambodia pledge stronger cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong on Thursday held a phone talk with President of the Cambodian People's Party and Cambodian Prime Minister Hunsen to discuss bilateral ties.

The two leaders praised the development of bilateral cooperation in all fields saying it brings practical benefits to the two peoples. They pledged to work closely to foster the fine neighborliness, traditional friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.

The two agreed to effectively implement joint statements and signed agreements including the Protocol and Plan on Cooperation in national defense and security. Vietnam and Cambodia will work out specific measures to boost bilateral economic ties.

They lauded the signing of two agreements on border delineation and border marker plantation between the two countries pledging to work harder to soon enforce them to build a border of peace, stability, cooperation and development. The two leaders affirmed to support each other at international forums.
