Vietnam, China seek to bolster agricultural trade despite epidemic - ảnh 1Vietnam and China discuss a range of measures to promote trade in agro-forestry-fishery products in Hanoi on April 16, 2020

The main topics of discussion were opening up more markets for agro-forestry-fishery products and boosting cross-border trade. One suggestion was to compile a list of exporters who would be exempted from inspections in order to reduce the time it takes for their products to pass through the border gate.

The two sides agreed that a number of goods from designated firms will be allowed to pass border control without quarantine.

Vietnam and China will also look to coordinate a "priority flow" through customs. Agricultural products will be able to cross the border in either direction via the Kim Thanh International Border Gate in Lao Cai province during new extended hours from 7am to 10 pm.
