Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich made the statement at a reception in Hanoi on Monday for the visiting Chinese Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun.

General Lich said the two sides need to promote and coordinate joint patrols at sea and on land, increase friendship exchanges between the two countries’ border guards, and organize annual Vietnam-China friendship border exchanges.

The two officials agreed that the border guards and coast guards of the two countries will continue coordination in stopping illegal border crossings, fighting drug, weapon, and human trafficking, and sharing UN peacekeeping mission experience.
