Vietnam Coast Guard, Navy review cooperation in 2021

(VOVWORLD) - Last year the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Vietnam People’s Navy cooperated on many tasks, including communication programs to popularize international law of the sea, the Vietnamese Law of the Sea, and the Coast Guard Law.

At a year-end review meeting on Thursday Major General Ngo Binh Minh, Commander of Coast Guard Region 1, said the two forces have closely coordinated and exchanged information, particularly in search and rescue operations.

“Coast Guard Region 1 and Naval Force Region 1 exchange information on the regular and unusual basis. We have different communication channels to better understand the situation in order to make early prediction.” 

Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Pham Manh Hung, said the naval force will be steadfast in guiding ideology, constantly improving its ability, and promoting the synergy of the two forces to protect national sovereignty of seas and islands and create a peaceful and stable environment for national development.
