The transmitting station has a capacity of 400 kw at the frequency of 1071 kHz. It is equipped with the latest technology and is ready to convert to digital radio using DRM technology following the global radio trend.
Le Dinh Lam, Director of VOV's Broadcasting Technical Center, said, “The South-Central region transmitting station is a major project for enhancing VOV's radio coverage in the south-central region and in the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) islands. This will encourage Vietnam's fishermen to maintain production and raise their awareness of the importance of defending Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty. It will also motivate officers, soldiers, and law enforcement forces to carry out their duty to defend Vietnam’s sea and islands, and will assert Vietnam’s sovereignty on national radio.”
