Ambassador Long said Vietnam is committed to implementing the “Joint Declaration on UK-Vietnam Strategic Partnership: Forging ahead for Another 10 Years,” in order to beef up the bilateral cooperation in a more practical and effective manner, and to promote the implementation of the UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA).
He said that Vietnam and the UK should step up collaboration in multiple fields, including politics, diplomacy, defence, security, economy, trade, education, and culture, as the two nations are heading towards celebrating the 50th founding anniversary of their diplomatic ties in 2023.
He asked Adams to help Vietnam gain access to COVID-19 vaccine supplies, production technology and medicine for COVID-19 treatment.
The British official affirmed that Vietnam is on the UK’s priority list for COVID-19 vaccine access and pledged to stand ready to assist the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Embassy of Vietnam in the UK.
