(VOVworld) – Vietnam strongly condemns savage and inhumane acts targeting innocent civilians.

Le Hai Binh, a spokesperson for the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry, made the statement Tuesday in response to reporters’ query about Vietnam’s reaction to the Islamic State’s beheading of two Japanese hostages.

He said Vietnam would like to send the deepest condolences to the Japanese government, people, and relatives of the victims.

Binh noted that Vietnam also supports the international community’s efforts to fight against terrorism in any forms and extreme activities in accordance with the UN Charter, fundamental principles of international laws, ensuring the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of countries involved, and guaranteeing the safety of citizens.
