Vietnam confirms 305 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday

(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Health said that from 12 noon to 7pm on Friday, Vietnam reported 102 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of cases of the day to 305.

The new cases included 8 imported cases in Ho Chi Minh City (4), Quang Nam (3), and Tay Ninh (1).

94 domestic cases were detected in Ho Chi Minh City (54), Binh Duong (8 ), Tien Giang (8 ), Nghe An (6), Da Nang (5), Bac Ninh (4 ), Bac Giang (3), Hai Phong (2), Dong Thap (2), Lang Son (1), and Thai Binh (1). Of them 85 cases were detected in quarantine or lockdown areas.

As of 7pm on Friday, Vietnam confirmed a total of 12,788 domestic cases and 1,749 imported cases. The number of new cases recorded in the country from late April is 11,218.

13 provinces have not recorded new cases in the community for 14 days. They are Yen Bai, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, Bac Lieu, Dien Bien, Dak Lak, and Vinh Phuc.

On Friday, 190 patients were declared cured, bringing the total number of recoveries to 5,949. 74 patients have died.
