Vietnam confirms 70th death related to COVID-19

(VOVWORLD) - From 12 noon to 6 pm on Wednesday, Vietnam recorded 85 new cases of COVID-19, raising the total new cases of the day to 220.

They included 3 imported cases in Tay Ninh (2) and Kien Giang (1). The 82 domestic cases were recorded in Ho Chi Minh City (61), Da Nang (6), Bac Ninh (4), Long An (3), Nghe An (5), Kien Giang (2), and Bac Giang (1). Of them 81 cases were detected in quarantine or lockdown areas.

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Health announced the 70th death from COVID-19, a 61-year-old female patient in Tien Giang with underlying medical conditions. On the same day, 138 more patients recovered.

As of 6pm on Wednesday, the total number of COVID-19 patients in Vietnam was 13,947, including 5,684 recoveries and 70 deaths.
