The event is jointly sponsored by the Vietnam Dance Artists Association and Kon Tum province’s People’s Committee. Pham Anh Phuong, Chairman of the Vietnam Dance Artists Association, said the week-long event aims to assess the current state of the contemporary dance sector and set a direction that will improve Vietnamese dance.

"Vietnam Dance Week 2024 is an event that honors our origins and serves as a platform for artistic creativity, with the goal of building and developing an advanced Vietnamese dance tradition that’s rich in national identity. It also contributes to building community and societal values and meeting Vietnam’s sustainable development needs," said Phuong.

As part of this year's Vietnam Dance Week, the Vietnam Dance Artists Association is organizing a Vietnamese Ethnic Dance Competition and a workshop called "The trend of returning to origins in contemporary movement art."
