Vietnam ensures intellectual property protection: Deputy PM

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese government is promoting intellectual property protection while implementing Free Trade Agreements and has issued an Intellectual Property Strategy until 2030, said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.

At a reception for a delegation of the Vietnam-ASEAN Association for Economic Cooperation Development in Hanoi on Monday, Mr. Minh highlighted efforts by the Government to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and help enterprises weather the crisis.

He said he hoped the Association and its members will pay more attention to ASEAN markets, and he asked enterprises to make the most of new opportunities created by FTAs.

Trade between Vietnam and ASEAN totaled 57 billion USD last year, up 1000% since 25 years ago. By the end of July 2020, FDI from ASEAN investors to Vietnam had reached nearly 82 billion USD, more than 21% of Vietnam’s total FDI.
