Vietnam has to date confirmed 1,096 COVID-19 cases, including 691 local infections and the rest are imported, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Among the patients undergoing treatment, seven have tested negative for the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 from once to thrice.

1,020 patients have been successfully treated and there are now no patients in critical conditions.

On Saturday and Sunday, Vietnamese representative missions in Europe and Africa, Vietnam National Airlines, and relevant agencies of both Vietnam and host countries organized flights to repatriate 340 Vietnamese citizens back home.

The passengers on board were children under 18, the elderly, people with illnesses, workers whose contracts have expired, students without accommodation due to dormitory closure, and others in disadvantaged circumstances.

Upon arrival at Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh province, all the crew members and passengers were given medical checkups and put under quarantine in line with regulations regarding COVID-19 prevention and control.
