Vietnam enters day 54 with no community transmission of COVID-19

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has entered the 54th day with no new local transmissions, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

As of Monday, Vietnam recorded 1,169 infections, of whom 1,061 have recovered and 35 have died. Most of the fatalities were elderly persons with serious underlying health conditions. 

The Ministry of Health says the pandemic is under control but could get worse during the winter.

People are advised to wear face masks and wash their hands with sanitizer regularly.
