Despite difficulties, the newly established fisheries surveillance force has done its best to fulfill the assigned tasks. Although six Vietnamese fisheries surveillance force members injured during attacks by Chinese ships that encroached on Vietnam’s waters in the East Sea, they said they are determined to protect the national territorial waters. Deputy Minister Tam called on the soldiers and staff of the force: “Please keep the mind on the work though your missions will face several difficulties because the relevant agencies and the entire society always stand by your side. We strongly believe in the Vietnamese fisheries surveillance force.”
