(VOVworld) – An official from the Consular Department of Vietnam’s Foreign Ministry Luong Thanh Quang on Saturday answered reporters’ questions concerning China’s arrest of a Vietnamese ship from Quang Ngai with 6 Vietnamese fishermen on board. A representative of the Consular Department met with a representative of the Chinese embassy in Hanoi to ask for China’s official announcement of the exact coordinates of the ship and the reasons for the arrest on July 3. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructed the Vietnamese embassy in Beijing to work with relevant Chinese agencies to verify the information and work out measures to protect these fishermen.
