Vietnam, France mark 50 years of diplomatic ties
(VOVWORLD) - Today, April 12, marks the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic ties and the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership. The two countries’ relations have been consolidated and strengthened in all aspects, and became a strategic partnership in 2013.

The 12th Vietnam-France conference on cooperation between the two countries’ localities will take place in Hanoi from Thursday to Sunday under the theme “Decentralized Cooperation: Driving force for recovery and sustainable and inclusive development post-COVID-9.”
High on the agenda will be sustainable urban areas. the environment, water resource and water treatment, culture, heritage and tourism, smart cities, and digitization.
Other activities will include a “Colors of Vietnam” space at the Hoan Kiem pedestrian area, a “Balade en France” (Walk in France) festival, and a Vietnam-France Economic Forum.
Director of the Hanoi Department of Foreign Affairs Ngo Minh Hoang, said: "The establishment of a Hanoi-Ile-de-France partnership in 1989 laid the foundation for the two countries’ decentralized cooperation to become a model of diplomatic relationships. This conference is an opportunity to promote Vietnam’s image to foreigners, including French localities."
