Vietnam fulfills 5 of 8 MGDs before schedules

(VOVworld) – The UN office in Hanoi says Vietnam has completed 5 of the 8 Millennium Development Goals before the scheduled time. UN experts were speaking at a press conference in Hanoi on Thursday to assess the results of implementing MDGs in Vietnam and the world over the past 15 years.

Vietnam has only just obtained moderate results in the other 3 goals, including combating HIV/AIDS, malaria and other epidemics, and ensuring environmental sustainability and building a global partnership for development.
UN experts said Vietnam should impose tougher policies and appropriate directions to quickly fulfill the remaining MDGs.
