Vietnam gives donation to US to overcome tornado aftermaths

(VOVWORLD) -A donation of 100,000 USD from the Vietnamese Government and people was presented on Wednesday in Hanoi to support bereaved families of tornadoes that struck the US State of Kentucky last month.

On December 12, 2021, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh jointly sent condolences to President Joe Biden and the families of victims of natural disasters.

Addressing the handover ceremony, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung shared deep sympathy over the great loss American people suffered and expressed his belief that the US government and people would soon overcome the consequences of the disaster in Kentucky.

Chargé d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Vietnam Marie Damour thanked the Vietnamese Government and people for their timely support, and said he hopes that the relations between the two countries and between their Red Cross organizations would continue to develop.
