Vietnam, India sign cooperation agreements

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Indian Chairman of the Council of States Venkaiah Naidu on Friday witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Assembly Office of Vietnam and the House of Representatives Office of India on library and National Assembly television.

The two sides will exchange information and improve access to digital document collections and databases of the two National Assembly libraries; cooperate in sharing experiences in digitizing resources, supplementing digital resources for the library for mutual benefits. They will join efforts to exchange broadcasts and television programs related to the National Assembly's law making.

On the same day, at a meeting with billionaire Prashant Ruia, Chairman of Essar Group, a multi-industry family group with an estimated market value of 15 billion USD and annual profit of 2.2 billion USD, Chairman Hue called on Essar to expand its investment in Vietnam, and welcomed the group's desire to invest in the petrochemical industry. The Chairman of Essar Group pledged to set up an action group to study investment possibilities in Vietnam.

On Friday, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung had a working session with the Indian Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in IT and electronics. The two Ministers agreed to work together to build a new cooperation framework until 2030 towards establishing a Digital Partnership between the two countries.
