Vietnam, Japan boost trade, investment

(VOVworld) – Vietnam and Japan on Wednesday opened an investment-trade promotion forum in Ho Chi Minh city in an effort to boost bilateral trade. 200 Vietnamese and Japanese businesses met to explore the markets. The forum created an opportunity for businesses of Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces to boost exports to Japan.

Pho Nam Phuong, Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Investment and Trade Promotion Center, said: "The forum held on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties is a significant event to elevate bilateral trade and investment relations. It introduces Vietnam’s policies, plans, and incentives to attract more Japanese investors to Vietnam".

Japan is Vietnam’s largest foreign investor, with newly registered and added capitalization worth 4.7 billion USD, accounting for 32% of Vietnam’s total foreign investment.
