(VOVworld) – Vietnamese and Japanese legislators discussed cooperation on agriculture, tourism, and climate change response in Hanoi on Thursday.

The meeting was co-chaired by Nguyen Van Giau, Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly’s Committee for External Relations, and Toshihiro Nikai, Secretary General of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and President of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Union.
Mr. Giau praised Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership and the two countries’ legislative ties which was largely thanks to the role of the Parliamentarians Union.
Mr. Nikai said Japan wished to enhance economic cooperation with Vietnam, particularly on projects to promote agro-forestry and fishery product value chains, to build fishing ports, to upgrade irrigation, and other areas.
