Addressing the opening ceremony, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said the event is part of activities to mark the 50th anniversary of establishing bilateral diplomatic relations between the two countries.

“The two countries have room for stronger cooperation in education and training, cultural exchanges, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges,” said Mr Son, adding that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to stand side by side with its partners and help localities increase their connections and exchanges with Japan in various forms.

He said the conference is a good opportunity for local leaders, Japanese governmental agencies, and Japanese businesses in Vietnam to exchange and promote cooperation.

Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yamada Takio said that Japanese businesses are choosing Vietnam as their second destination in the world to expand their operations and investment. It means that the future relations between the two countries will continue to grow more strongly.
