Vietnam, Laos continue to consolidate their special friendship unity

(VOVworld) - Vietnam and Laos will continue to place priority on consolidating and developing the time-honoured friendship and special solidarity. During his official visit to Laos on Monday, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his Laotian counterpart Thongsing Thammavong agreed that both countries will continue to give top priority to enhancing and developing the Vietnam-Laos special relations, regarding the ties as a valuable asset and of vital significance for the cause of national revolution in their respective nation.

They concurred to organise important event anniversaries of the two countries through the year’s end. Both leaders discussed on regional and international issues of mutual concern and agreed to spur the sound cooperative ties between the two countries at regional and international forums, especially within the cooperation framework of ASEAN to maintain the common stance and voice of the bloc in regional important strategic issues, including those on the East Sea.

PM Dung confirmed that Vietnam will coordinate closely and provide assistance to help Laos well perform the role of ASEAN Chair in 2016. On Monday morning, Prime Minister Dung paid a courtersy visit to General Secretary and President Choummaly Sayasone and met Laotian Parliament Speaker Pany Yathotu.
